Data Warehouse Update

The Banner 8 ODS Development upgrade was completed in July, paving the way for the ODS Production upgrade. We have also recently completed a 3-day training class on Cognos report studio. In attendance were colleagues from a wide range of functional areas, including Admissions, Registrar's Office, Student Business Services, IT, and IPA. The training focused on the use of the ODS environment for day-to-day reporting needs. In the next couple of months we hope to roll out this environment to more end-users.

The Data Warehouse development also is moving along. A calendar system is currently being tested to help with the ability to provide snapshots at important times during the academic year. This system will be flexible and allow us to automate the snapshot process.

Updated information

The UCM Profile tab now contains two documents, the UC Merced Profile and the Campus Accountability Framework. Each campus in the UC system has prepared an accountability framework document highlighting accomplishments and showing data concerning students, staff and faculty.

You can now see the profile document for each campus in the UC system by going to the links tab. The campus profiles are part of the accountability and transparency movement underway in higher education to give the public easy access to information about multiple aspects of student collegiate life.
