Data Warehouse Update

The Cognos installation has been completed and security has been set up within the database as well as the Cognos reporting environment. The nightly load process from the Banner Student Information production system is working. Developers currently are designing a Data Warehouse snapshot process for enrollment data, as well as designing pilot data marts to be used for enrollment reporting. These data marts will go through a rigorous testing phase with key functional users to help validate the data.

Within the next six months, we hope to establish the Data Warehouse Steering Committee which will guide the data access and training processes as well as develop policies and set priorities for development.

Updated information

The UCM Profile tab now contains two documents, the UC Merced Profile and the Campus Accountability Framework. Each campus in the UC system has prepared an accountability framework document highlighting accomplishments and showing data concerning students, staff and faculty.

You can now see the profile document for each campus in the UC system by going to the links tab. The campus profiles are part of the accountability and transparency movement underway in higher education to give the public easy access to information about multiple aspects of student collegiate life.
